Time: 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Where: District Hall, 75 Northern Avenue, Boston, MA

Students in high school and college, adults with disabilities who are looking for a job, attend a career exploration workshop

  • Learn about jobs in today’s workplaces

  • Meet individuals who work in customer service, education, theater, TECHNOLOGY, RESEARCH, FUNDRAISING, POLITICS, the private and public sector

  • Talk with other participants about interests and skills and how to use those to identify career options

You are invited to World of Careers, a career exploration workshop, unlike any you have ever attended. You will have 15 minutes to ask a professional about her current job, the types of tasks she does every day, the skills used at work and any other question you have about working; at the end of the fifteen minutes a bell will sound and you now have another fifteen minutes to talk with a new professional.  Every 15 minutes you will meet a new professional until we break for lunch.

After lunch, Emily Berheide of Finding Futures Consulting will lead the discussion. By the end of the day, you will leave with some career options and steps to take to begin pursuing these ideas.

A light Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Please let us know by Thursday October 26, 2017 if you need an accommodation.
